About Meg

Hey there! I’m Megan… but more frequently I’m “Meg” or “Mom!” (I counted once, and it took a little under 2 minutes for my kids to holler mom 10 times.) I used to teach math to elementary students until I had my first baby boy, and I was fortunate enough to fulfill a lifelong dream of being a stay-at-home mom. Now I am home all day with my boys (big boy is going to kindergarten this year), and I moonlight as a community college math instructor.  How’s that for glamour?

This is my family.

I live with 4 cute boys. (Is it weird to lump my husband with my kids here?) Sometimes living with all boys is fun and a wonderful kind of crazy. Sometimes it’s like I’ve traveled into some other dimension I didn’t know existed. (I have 2 sisters, so my dad was the me of my family growing up.) “Are you going to have 1 more so you can get that girl?” No. I’d love a girl if I had one, and I honestly sometimes get sad thinking about being an older version of myself with no daughter, but I love the #boymom life. I also love the #3kidsisplentyforme life.

This blog will probably be as mixed up as my head is. When starting a blog, they say to be successful you should have a “clear vision” and “focus” to reach your target audience.  Yeaaaaaah, about that.  That’s not going to happen here. So I suppose you could say that I’m setting myself up for failure, but I am not passionate about any one thing, and I never have been.  I’m a math nerd with a need to create, and I love food. I know for me the only way TO be successful is to not pigeonhole my thoughts. Because I do not thrive in a pigeon hole. (Is this a real thing? Do pigeons nest in holes?)

I started this blog for a few reasons

  • To have a place to document the things I’ll want to remember when my boys are big, and the things I want to remember when they are big if it goes that long
  • To share my craft and DIY projects with others
  • To document our transition to a Whole 30/Paleo ish family

I hope you’ll join me on this ride through blogsville!
